Foam blowing agentFluorack™ Foam Blowing Additive FRK-49 is effective in reducing the thermal conductivity of foam formulations when added. This additive can significantly reduce the average size of the foam cells and provide a uniform distribution of smaller cells during the foam blowing process. The resulting foam shows a reduction in thermal conductivities about typically 3% to 15% lower than those without the additive. This fluid is nonflammable with low GWP, which is perfered compared to conventional additives of hydrocarbons and HFCs. Fluorack™ Foam Blowing Additive FRK-49 is a clear, colorless and odorless fluorinated fluid. It is effective in reducing the thermal conductivity of polyurethane and other rigid foam formulations when added as low as 0.5% on the total foam weight.Such feature is desired as insulation to provide an effective barrier to heat tranfer. This additive can significantly reduce the average size of the foam cells and provide a uniform distribution of smaller cells as a nucleating agent during the foam blowing process, and thus to lower the thermal conductivity of cured rigid polymeric foams accordingly. The resulting foam shows a reduction in thermal conductivities about typically 3% to 15% lower than those without the additive. This fluid is nonflammable with low GWP, which is perfered compared to conventional additives of hydrocarbons and HFCs.
